COOL NATURE FACT
Did you know that groundhogs are eating up the last green vegetation such as clovers, dandelions, and other herbs to prepare winter hibernation? Groundhogs are the largest animals that truly hibernate in our area. The groundhogs that you currently see around the park are feeding heavily to build up fat stores for the winter.
Survival in nature is one of the many topics discussed in the Fall Creek Falls 2½-day or 5-day Environmental Education Program for school groups. For more information, contact Ranger Matt Brown at (423) 881-5708 or visit the Nature Center.
